This Sunday was a beautiful celebration. Our spirits were high - it was so wonderful to see people of many backgrounds, ethnicities and generations come together and celebrate the music of my mother, and the values she embodies.

I would like to thank the Ashram Singers’ music director, Surya Botofasina, and choir director, Radha Botofasina, for all your hard work, and to our special guest performers, Brandee Younger, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Dwight Trible, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Flying Lotus, for helping make this evening feel extra special.

Also, I would like to thank the people at the Red Bull Music Academy and Luaka Bop for your support in the advancement of my mother’s music. Your alliance and dedication is greatly appreciated in making a difference in this world.
